4 inch wide arched opening block

Description

This stepped and arched fireplace opening tile is used to form a 4 inch wide arch over fireplace openings.

It is approximately 8 inches long x 4 inches wide and goes back into the fireplace opening by 2 inches.

You need 7 of the tiles to form a 180 degree arch.

Fireplaces incorporating these tiles were increasingly popular from the 1930s through until the late 1960s when fires using them fell out of fashion.

The 48 inch wide arched fireplaces that used these tiles were one of the most popular fireplace designs of the mid 20th century.

This is a slip cast tile, hand produced

We generally hold a small stock of the tile in bisque (unglazed) form, and glaze them to order, so please allow about 6 weeks for delivery.
