About Us
Fireplace Tiles is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of tiles for fireplaces, hearths and stove surrounds. We are based in the Stockport area and deliver throughout mainland UK. We do not sell bathroom or kitchen tiles. Fireplaces are all we do, and we manufacture complete fireplaces as well as the tiles, so we know exactly what a tile has to survive once it is fitted around a working fire.
Our ceramic tiles are made to order and hand dipped, one tile at a time, so the glaze gathers and thins across each face and no two come out quite the same. We produce the traditional formats: the 4 1/4 x 2 1/8 inch tiles used for hearths and tiled panels from the 1880s to the 1920s, the square 4 inch format that came into common use around 1918, and the 6 inch range that has been the industry standard since 1945. Alongside those we make shaped tiles for rounded and double rounded edges, tapered openings, keystones and kerbs. Our decorative panels are produced by tube lining and transfer printing, and all our tiles are manufactured to BS 6431. Our porcelain quarry range is sourced from established producers in Portugal and Italy, chosen for durability on hearths that take real heat.
