4 inch kerb corner tile (REXr)

Description

4 inch square corner tile for kerbs (REXr).

A shaped glazed tile used to turn the corner where a raised kerb meets the front edge of a fireplace hearth. From 1918 onwards, raised edges of various styles were incorporated into tiled fireplace hearths, and the corner piece is what makes the kerb read as a continuous edge rather than three separate runs.
