These rounded edge tiles were available from the 1920s on, and were pivotal in that they allowed for the making of three dimensional shapes in fireplaces.

This size of tile was especially in vogue for fireplaces from the 1950s to the 1970s.

The renewed popularity of more Victorian and Edwardian designs has kept this tile in continuous production for almost century.
